Goal and mission To promote the role of pharmacist in family planning and contraception through knowledge acquisition, filling in of existing gaps in skills and knowledge on family planning, acquisition of practical skills in safe administration of contraception, and enhancing participant’s confidence. Training needs assessment Pharmacists are the first point of contact for the community with respect to healthcare needs. With the emerging increase in demand for family planning and use of various methods of contraception, pharmacists interact, in the course of their practice, with clients in need of these services. However, lack of sufficient knowledge on eligibility criteria and various methods of contraception limits their ability to provide quality, safe and patient-centered care in this respect. CPD activities  Introduction of participants to current family planning and contraception methods, including evidence-based eligibility criteria for family planning and contraception Training on safe administration and use of various methods of contraception

To provide a platform for knowledge acquisition on family planning and contraception To fill existing gaps in skills and knowledge on family planning To promote acquisition of practical skills in safe administration and use of contraception To build the confidence of participants in family planning care
